Go Local Wednesdays – Project DTO: Advancing Downtown Orlando

The City Beautiful is already a wonderful place to live, but what if it could be even better? That’s exactly the question the leaders of Project DTO are asking themselves and the community. Project DTO is a visioning process to create and develop the next stage of Downtown Orlando. The main objectives of the projects include a DTO Vision, DTO Marketing Strategy, and a new Downtown Orlando Community Redevelopment Area Plan to set forth a roadmap to achieve the new vision.

The project has designated some key areas for focus: transit, parking, arts & culture, city identity and the social landscape of the community. Project DTO has a whole entire task force of 75 passionate individuals that will be movers and shakers in the cause.

The best part of all of this is that Project DTO is asking YOU, the Orlando community for ideas and input. They have made it really fun and easy to participate and here’s how you can:

1. Project DTO has an impressions survey for you to fill out and say what you think is valuable in a downtown area.

2. Oyes/Ono – See something cool in a different city that you would like to see in Orlando? Post it to social media with the hashtag #oyes, or if you see something you don’t like happening you can tag it with #ono.

3. Simply just drop an email and let Project DTO know what your ideas are.

Be sure to check out the Project DTO Facebook page to stay updated. Also, get rolling on some ideas!
