Who Says There’s Nothing To Do In Orlando? – Dr. Phillips Community Open House

If you have traveled through Downtown Orlando I’m sure you’ve noticed the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.  Maybe it was only concrete and steel when you first saw it but it is now a building of pure wonderment.  33,000 square feet, it spans two blocks and takes up almost nine acres of downtown. And now is your chance to step inside and experience it all for yourself.  Saturday November 8th starts their community open house.  Guests can meander through the Della Phillips Grand Lobby, the Walt Disney Theater, the Alexis & Jim Pugh Theater and the Seneff Arts Plaza. Along the way be sure to stop for photo ops and pick up tickets to upcoming shows and events!  This is a family friendly event so bring everyone out to take in the beauty of this new building!

The community open house is from noon until 6pm but you don’t want to go too far afterwards because at 8pm there is a free concert.  The concert is celebrating the opening of the Dr. Phillips Center and the Seneff Arts Plaza and it is starring Cheryl Crow!  Can you believe it?!  A free Cheryl Crow concert right in Downtown Orlando, how cool is that?!  And if you aren’t able to make it out to Saturday’s community open house don’t worry, they’re doing it again on Sunday.  But on Sunday you’ll have the option to upgrade to a $30 ticket that will get you access to a private facility with high top tables and chairs, lunch from Bubbalou’s Bodacious BBQ and three drink tickets.  Sunday hours are noon to 4pm, exploring on your own is still free!
