Go Local Wednesday – Cornell Fine Arts Museum

The Cornell Fine Arts Museum, located on the Rollins College campus, overlooking Lake Virginia, has more than 5,000 works and is recognized as one of the largest and most distinguished collections in Florida according to their website.  The collection began over a century ago and has been steadily growing ever since.

The Cornell Fine Arts Museum offers exhibits throughout the year that engage and intrigue visitors both old and young.  They seek to start a conversation or dialogue .  Currently, the exhibit  Displacement: Symbols and Journeys, seeks to explore borders and boundaries.  More than a political statement, it seeks to explore the US and Mexican border, by touching on immigration, alienation and cultural influences.

Admission to this lovely museum is complimentary.  This would be a great place to take the kids this summer break and start a dialogue.
