Creative City Project began the way most passion projects do. Someone saw a need to do something great and went for it. Cole Nesmith, the founder and executive director of Creative City Project, says that “after looking around at so many of [his] creative friends… [that] our city would be better off if more people knew about the amazing work [his] friends [were] creating.” So he took a chance and started what we now know as Immerse.
In 2012, Nesmith orchestrated for performances to take place in a Downtown Orlando space every day in October. In the first year, he was able to include performances from the Orlando Ballet and Cirque du Soleil – both of which still participate.
Now Immerse takes place over a weekend in October (this year it is on the 18th and 19th) and hosts countless musicians, artists, dancers, designers and thinkers. There will be four stages with over 125 performers and over 30 installations and street artists – all of which are included in the General Admission ticket.
If you upgrade your ticket to General Admission plus experiences, you will have an opportunity to see Architects of Air and The Worlds of Corkcicle (which actually extends beyond the event date to October 26th). Finally, if you are looking to get the full experience you can purchase a VIP ticket which will include all of the previously mentioned things and take part in The Dinner Party Project (there are a few other perks, too).
This event celebrates all of the amazing creators, thinkers, and doers Orlando has to offer. Immerse will give you an opportunity to experience, hear, see, think, and even, taste new things. It will be an event you’ll never forget.
